What is this? Sounds like a tone generated from an Atari 2600 cart

Skip is rolling right now on CB and I see this come across my waterfall on my SDR on channel 18. It sounds like someone is just deadkeying and adjusting their frequency to make this. I saw on the waterfall too who ever this is testing out the frequency. What is this?? This is CB at its most .. creative? lol

Sounds like a digital mode to me. But ch 18? That's a weird place to do it.

Could have been FT8. Several guys in another group have been using FT8 on ch.28 and trying to get more ops to join 'em. If they did on 28, there's no reason it couldn't happen on 18 as well.

I have heard this on channel one out here when the band is open, I figure just some creative guys running digital modes.
