Picked up a new Stryker 955 for the Pete this week. Testing it in the house before taking it out to the truck.

I'll post a picture/video once it's installed and working.

So far I'm impressed with the RX on it. Look forward to getting some feedback on how it sounds on the air.

That green... damn, my eyes hurt.
yup. if they had just made it a plain old school black or chrome face with a regular red led ch. display and white meter light, that radio would be a 100% winner. plus just doing that would probably increase sales by 15% or more. i like many others never got one because that whole christmas tree light toy looking thing made me turn the other way. oh well.

Nice radio! @KyPoohCDX618 . I have one and probably another on the way soon to add to my collection.
Some people like the lights but I really don't mind one way or the other. The dimmer comes in handy for some.
But... getting to the meat of the radio, operation, function and durability, they’re hard to beat. And if you do have any issues with it, their customer service it top notch.
They are dead on frequency right out of the box and drifting isn't something you'll have to worry about. And as you know, power wise, they definitely hit the mark!
Great choice! Enjoy that radio, brother!

It seems to be a solid radio. Not fully installed in the truck - had to swap out Wilson antennas. Couldn't get the swr down on the one that was in there. Stryker kept telling me high swr even with it only showing about 1.3. Switched antennas and it did just fine.

Here's the old setup - camera makes the illumination look brighter/darker than it is...
It's been a good radio, has close to a million miles on it - it'll get a thorough checkup and then get installed in the pickup for some 'semi' retirement years.

Yeah, as for the swr's, I've found you really can't trust the swr reading on the radio. I know sometimes they're close but I trust my external MFJ Meter. The redio meter tends to give a higher reading, from my experience.

It would cut out tx after one second. Had to get it down to where the radio was happy.

I'll double check with my meter this weekend when i finish replacing the coax - just to be sure everything is 100%

Now I'm looking at my old but still in working order foot warmer and scratching my chin.... Haha

Got it installed and adjusted so I'm mostly happy with how it is. Need to fiddle with the swr a bit more to get it down as low as possible.

I have a thing for purple..
