RANGER RCI 69 BASE PLUS PLUS W/ CARL BUILT 800HD

I would think 100 watts from the 69 B++ should run this without overdriving it. But I think I'll leave this to those who actually know.

I'm posting because I've got nothing but compliments from my RCI 69 B ++ using a procomm power mic. @Shadetree Mechanic will attest to the great sound this produces with the Ranger. And @unit_399 has heard me countless times while using this setup.

This mic is called an Aries, but it's the same mic as the Procomm, only more affordable.

Good luck with your project!

I agree ! You have a fantastic sounding station Rod !
And you were sounding great too! And did you see my post? Need to send you an invoice for new speakers! :ROFLMAO:

And back to the question from Swamp Yankee. That 200 amp supply is boss and you shouldn't have any issues with powering the Carl Built. As to what it actually needs to run it..? One of these fellas will hop on and give you some good info. That's out of my wheelhouse.

Hi guys, can anyone confirm if the 69 Base Plus Plus (latest white LED model) can slide +/- 5KHz? For example, can the radio go to 28.490? Or 27.350? I have heard conflicting reports.
If it doesn't stretch at least +/- 5 KHz, is there a known modification for increasing the slide range on this latest PCB? (Other than realignment with the clarifier off-centre, to enable more slide in one direction, I guess...)

Cheers

No Sir. It's unfortunate too because I do like the 0's.
As for a mod? I'm not sure.

Ok thanks. What a ridiculous oversight on that radio! The manual does say +/- 5KHz but I had my doubts. I'm still going to get one of these overpriced boat anchors because I don't have a Ranger base in my collection (and I do think they look cool). I'll investigate a solution for the slide when it arrives. 10m SSB is actually where I'll use it.

Yes, this is the mic. I have a couple of these and use them on both of my Rangers. I've thought about trying it out on something like the anytone. It may or may not sound as good.
I’ve used it on a Road King Classic, Royce 619, President Walker, President Richard and even a Browning Golden Eagle. All with great results! If the Anytone lets you select a dynamic mic, I would think it would work fine. :giggle:
