Threw in the .CB Towel. Even 1KW power cannot make a contact on channel 6. I use Ham radio to listen now.

There are 39 other channels to choose from.

i’m not going to post photos or go into real details about my setup, however…

if you want unbelievably clean audio without using ancient sweep tubes, id strongly suggest using an mrf455 4-pill with extra low keying carrier - two watt deadkey is more than enough

use an [insert number] farad capacitor between the power supply and whatever sorcery youre displaying the gangsta lean over the airwaves with

for the cleanest audio ever, use something like a bencher ya-1 BETWEEN the radio and amp, then finally use a proper amphenol entry and exit based ferrite choke directly underneath the antenna - this should be part of the 90 degree angle itself fyi

LOL! I've made contacts on channel 6 with less than 100 watts. That said, the majority of operators on the superbowl are using much more than 1kw, and they are also using directional antennas, as they know the antenna is much more important than the amount of power used.

The question of the hour of course is WHY? Why would you want to make contacts only on 6? What about the other 39 legal channels and the several hundred other 11 meter channels? Why do you need a ham radio to only listen?
If you're going to run a ham radio why would you only listen when you have all those thousands of frequencies to explore and use?

Sorry, but very little about your post makes any sense at all!!

Thought I had too much stuff for an amateur / non-radio pro but the preceding pages made me feel a bit better. Next thread along this theme should focus on how big a collection of Parts & Supplies needed to keep the equipment going. How do you organize it all? I'm swimming in zip-lock baggies.

A big shop with lots and lots and lots of shelves!
Several of those classic electronics shop organizers with all the little drawers to put components in.
Big workbenches to cram boxes and boxes of stuff underneath!

And the best part....a dusty loft where things can hide for a really long time behind the spiderwebs...........that's where I put the "I'll-get-to-it-one-of-these-days" projects that will probably still be up there when I depart this earthly plane!

I sold my Cobra 29LTD and D&A Phantom 10 tube amp. Now use Kenwood TS-570D unlocked and a SBE SB2-LA six sweep tube amp that makes 750 watts peak out.
