Here you go... Sams info on the Royce 1-630... Dan
Here is the Royce 1-630 mixing chart from Lou Franklin's site.

Since 7.89xxx crystals are common in TX and RX, it is easy to add an external DDS VFO by switching just one of these crystals, thus achieving better channel coverage without ruining the original equipment.

Hi Dan!

Thank you very much for your quick and prompt reply!

There is no rush! After all, I will only be working on one piece of equipment at a time!

Even if it is one a week (or even a month), it will be fine.

If possible, SAM's 136 (Hy Gain VIII 3108)

Thank you very much!

I just finished the enhanced Hy Gain VIII manual with a separate spliced together schematic. The file size was a little large for this forum, so I split the manual in two parts.

Sunbulls - What program do you use to splice these together so seamlessly?

I don’t use any specialized program for joining those pages together. I mainly use early versions of Paint Shop Pro and ACDsee. Some of the early paint programs that I have become efficient with for the past twenty or more years. Horizontal and vertical line alignment is the key. Each page is rotated right or left by small varying degrees. It’s a trial and error method that involves checking after each attempt by comparing it to a perfect horizontal or vertical line at the pixel level. As you know, most scanners do not create perfect horizontal images, which include the original Sam’s pages themselves. After the third or fourth try I can usually get them close to perfect. Areas that are blurred or distorted near the book valleys are redrawn during connection. A lot of copying and pasting is done during that process. As you may have seen, I sometimes redraw the entire schematic on radios that are personally nostalgic. I will soon be posting a redraw of the Midland 13-857. Redrawn schematics usually take me about two weeks.

Sun - That's pretty much what I do but I was hoping you had some sort of "magic" app to do this. Yours look a lot better than mine!

Dan - I have a Sams for the 525F (thank you for that) but this 525 appears to be an older model. I can't find anything on it that specifies which variation it is but it has a smaller meter than the F model and the "delta-tune" is lever operated instead of the usual rotart switch. Another difference is the mic jack is on the front instead of the side.

Your description matches three candidates, the 525A, the 525B, and the 525C. The 525A and B are in Sams's CB-15, and the 525C is in CB-23.

Thank you for narrowing it down for me. It looks like I'll need to order a manual and I want to make sure I get the right one!

I'd start here and see if this matches: https://www.rigpix.com/cbfreeband/lafayette_hb525a_manual.pdf

It's the owner's manual for the 525A, which happens to have a schematic and alignment info. If that's a match for your radio, then you know which one you've got. If not, you've eliminated yet another possibility.
