3/8-24 CB Antenna Recommendations

We had a firestick on a tri-mag mount. Worked great for a couple thousand miles or more.
I was thinking a Firestick would be up there in the top picks. Been many years since I owned one. I always had tuning issues with it. Figured there is probably several new players on the lot. Definitely not against going with a Firestick.

I'll check that out. Thanks
The 7 footers seemed much more efficient than the 4ft model naturally, my theory being the loading coil was much less wire and higher in the air and farther away from the sheet metal.

I still have two, one was trimmed to tune the other was never touched and only used once or twice. Would be happy to part with one, if you're interested PM me.

I have a couple truck stops about 45 minutes away. I might see what they have. Most truckers use the 3/8 stuff.
Loves, Pilot Flying J are full of accessories, usually not anything over 4' though because they market for big trucks.
I stop at the Loves down in the valley for fuel and always check out the goods.
I used to run the HQ-27 worked well on a ranger mounted on the rear corner of the bed.
They are solid antennas built with real antenna experience, I used the CG-144 on two meters for a long time and it was a good antenna.

I was really hoping they'd have one. It'd probably be more expensive anyway. There used to be CB shop near the one truck stop. They might have something. Been around 15 years since I was there last.
I spent a decade going in and out of the big 3 truck stops. All they stock antenna wise is the typical 4ft stuff, Wilson, Firestik, Francis, K40 and cheaper crap, all of it at high prices. You won't find anything exotic there.

Don't you live somewhat close to DXE? If not, online is your best bet, IMO.

I live 2.5 hours away. I was really hoping they'd have something. Makes sense only carrying practical sized truck antennas. I still might call the CB Shop, but I do know they'll fleece me. I imagine I'll just order one online.
