Yeah I hope so too he offered to sell me one to check it out and I think I might do that Although I really do like having the meter in it kind of gives Drive reference and something you can peek at just to make sure everything's doing what it's supposed to I know why they use the Dei transistors for so long though because they bought such a surplus of them that they had to burn through them I mean if you're a company and you bought 100,000 of one part and a newer part comes out that's better you're not going to throw away your investment you're going to have to use up what you got before you move on to the next new or better part and at the time when the Toshiba dried up we didn't have the HG yet Arlen had the pp 100s which if you look at bbis comparison video the early HG looked pretty close to the pp 100 for all we know the early age HG could have been the pp 100s and they were just running out the chips until they switched over to the better part Because the first generation HG wasn't all that great either but I'm not 100% sure on that but it would make sense if that's what it was in the very beginning I thought the HG was just a copy of the Dei but when BBI took the lids off of them finally the chipset was differentAnd that makes sense for cost savings , one can only hope that with Mike at the helm quality may get bact to what it was in the past.
Recently there have been examples of some poor assembly work.

Me too, it's a feature that has set them apart from just about everyone else.Although I really do like having the meter in it kind of gives Drive reference and something you can peek at just to make sure everything's doing what it's supposed to
I agree on the poor assembly work the thing is I bought three Texas Star 1600s and the Biasing was off on two of them and the third one seems to work just fine so I'm going to get with Mike about sending the two 1600s back to him unless I can find another shop that can do it with a quicker turnaround and letting him fix them what ended up happening to the 2 1600s was that when you would key them up they would key about half power and then slowly climb up to full power and I ran them on a 300 amp power supply so I asked around and And I got the same answer a couple of times about the biasing not being correct and they've had the same issue So we'll see what happens maybe he can replace the Dei with HG And Return it and see what happensMe too, it's a feature that has set them apart from just about everyone else.
