Has anyone figured out how to turn the bass and treble into echo on these radios is it easy or something a tech has to do

I'm sure it's all surface mount, not too many people like to mess with that. Probably be easier to just get a 2018 Extreme echo mic and be done. If you really feel you need echo.

Well this place says they can add echo for no charge so maybe it's a simple mod after all.

I suspect it's all there, just needs the control pot hooked up. What to hook it to? Sooner or later someone will have a video, I am sure.

Yeah I have done it. I'll get you details later.

Move J424-1 to J424, move J406-1 to J406, look for a chip resistor, behind the "O" in the PCB number EPTCTOP40B, when the front of the radio is facing you. If the resistor is in place lift it. If not, install it. This resistor is marked 100 (10 ohms) see photo.

On my radio the resistor is in place.
So from what you're saying I just remove it from the board.
It doesn't make sense that you're saying if it's there to lift it or remove it.
If it's not there to install it. If it wasn't there how would we have it to install?

im going to look at mine today i bet the resistor is always there and it has to be removed.

I believe that resistor, when left in, defeats the ability to turn echo off. I say this only based on a youtube tech (draw your own conclusions here) "GUMP TUNED" this radio and my customer wanted it un-echoed. The "GUMP TUNED" clown, left the resistor in, (I could see that it was removed and reinstalled creating the confusion) whereby, not allowing echo to turn off. My instructions were for you to experiment with, either resistor in or out. I didn't experiment, I just returned the radio back to factory.

I ended up sending mine to Panic Attack and had him go thru the radio and hook the echo up, its pretty neat now!
