11 meter is very quiet?

Fantastic DX day yesterday......at least in the morning and midday. Had quite the pipeline to the Houston area and talked to no less than nine stations in a row in Houston LOL! Then the skip zone moved eastward and I had contacts in Louisiana and Arkansas for an hour. Lots and lots of South America on the uppers. DX pretty much died after that........ nothing in the late afternoon but static and some faint voices.

JJ you need to get your gear hooked back up! Had Colombia in here the last couple days pretty strong!

Working on it. Peddling as fast as I can. Working inside an SMD radio w/o a schematic is slow going. When my Radioddity QT80 gets here, I'll hook it up and still have the Q6PRO on my bench. By the time it gets here DX will probsbly be dead. Murphy's Law.

Maybe when DX gets rolling I'll be able to reach JJ in Columbia. Now I'd like to hit San Diego and figure I have USA homeland covered except for the far North East which might be impossible because of that man-made mountain up against me on the North East. Except 1 time I did hit Nova Scotia. and thought that was a miracle. LOL

I'll try again tomorrow, Sean.
I won't be on the air until the afternoon (our time) JJ...... I have to keep working on filling the woodshed in the morning before the heat of the day!
It might be nice and hot out now, but in just a few months we'll be needing a fire to stave off the cold and damp.......

Mostly been hanging on 37 & 38 LSB. Sometimes I wander up to 555USB. Hope to connect again soon!

Today was the fourth day in a row with good conditions so it does look like the fall DX season has actually begun!

44 degrees this morning high only in the mid 70s today. This weather is whacked out. I'm not complaining, it is working mans temps. but too early for this. It's only the end of Dog Days Aug. Friday & Saturday the high only in the 60s. I wore a long sleeve Tee shirt all day yesterday. Crazy !

Our closest big city, Medellin, is called, " The City of Eternal Spring." Spring-like weather every day all year long. Even better up here in the mountains. Always low humudity - 40 to 50 % max. Mid to hi 70s most every day. Nice breeze coming up out of the valley. Paradise. But sometimes I miss the snow and the cold . . . NOT !!

Just got home from cutting wood. Band is open.... JJ I tried calling you but to no avail. I did end up making two contacts in Texas (again!) and one in Louisiana. S9+10 signal from 4090 Houston!
Skip just needs to go a little longer for Colombia..... I'll keep trying on 37.
