Has anyone ever tried to repair the clock motor on one of these radios? If so what did you do? Is the motor replaceable? If yes, where did you get it? Informed people wanna know... Thanks... Dan
Yes Google it. Its those ac timers you use for like lamps and such. I bought mine at Home Depot but they are sold everywhere. Fixed both my Madison clocks. Open it up and use the gear to replace the bad one in the base clock.I think I saw a YouTube video of someone replacing the clock motor. They would buy a device (I forget what it was) and take the motor out to put in the CB. I will try to find it.
CSA 1863 thank you for your input... DanI've taken the clock motor apart and found one of the plastic gears had broken causing the "gearbox" to slip when attempting to turn the number dial. Couldn't fix the broken gear and found nothing when searching for a replacement motor or gear.

Its a possibility... DanIf it's a broken gear, Dan, I bet you could print one.
Awesome...thanks for the info... Danright at the beginning of that video, he shows the metal plate on the back of the motor, then he takes the cover off of the new motor to show the gears.
that silver metal plate on the original motor is notorious for backing out enough for those two gears to lose good contact.
re-seating that plate so the gears cant back out has fixed more than a few clocks for me.

Ebay is selling just the gears for a intermatic. Contacting the seller to see if they will work on the one in the Dwight D... DanIf it's a broken gear, Dan, I bet you could print one.

He's got instructions on how to order what you need so you get the right part. It's pretty easy to do the actual gear swap.
