So after 5 years of being beaten around by storms etc ..... my Sigma Venom from the guys in England developed an SWR. Limping along with it for now until replacement arrives as I have a tuner which is making the match fine and protecting the radio. Happy with the Venom otherwise so I was going to just get another one.
First, I saw that they were $40 more than the last time bought .... oh well - Go ahead and buy but then get messages from them stating .... well .... there's going to be an extra $20 Service Fee, $10 for Trump Tariff (their exact words), Another $15 something for something something AND they said there may be ADDITIONAL FEES exactly unable to calculate at this time but be prepared for that ..... None of this is mentioned of course in their eBay ads regarding U.S. Buyers.
pfffffffffttttttttt ..... so I cancelled the order which they accepted right away and am getting a U.S. stocked antenna instead.
Don't know if Sirio is giving everyone this runaround too on pricing ..... just BEWARE of purchasing overseas items right now.

That's unfortunate because the 5/8 wave venom is a great antenna. I used one for a few years too until a brutal wind storm killed it early in the spring this year. We should have bought a backup before all the new fees went into play.

It’s not just England, I bought a used radio off eBay, didn’t notice the seller was in Canada so PayPal tacked on tariff charges and then a few days after the package arrived I got a bill from UPS for another tariff charge. So my used radio that I bought for $130 ended costing me another $79 in tariff’s.

Welcome to the EU! LOL That has been the norm for decades they always wanted me to lie on customs forms when Iw ould sell them something.

Actually, what surprises me more is, the Trump Tariff isn't more than that! But all good info to know. Thanks for the heads up!
