HR-2510 frequency issue

Hello.
Have you ever seen 2510 working only between 26.000 and 27,999MHz? How to open it to 10m?
Seem to be untouched.

Has someone changed the crystal to drop the frequency range, but not expanding the Microprocessor?
That would result in the above.

Reading on display is correct to TX/RX frequency. Radio just won't go above 27.999

I know that you know better and have experience
repairing radios from your posts.

I have 2 of these 2510's that were given to me years ago,
due to problems there. the bands.

if was because of the modification to make them
go on U.S.A. CB ch 1-40 and beyond.

I found very sloppy soldering under that UC1201 board at the
modification spots. I neatly resoldered, and all good.

I have one powered up now with that 1201A chip.
has 9 bands. A - I A starts at 28000 E starts at 26000
G is ch 1 to 40 CB

hopefully you just notice bad soldering as I have.
That happened to me on some other radios, after the
"MARS MOD" has been done to them.

Yes, your correct.
I had forgotten that the frequency display doesn't change so it would drop 2 MHz with the incorrect display.
Strange problem.

I did contact him briefly
He said that he is aware of a guy in Australia that was writing his own software for the radio that limited it to 26-28 MHz.
I don't want to keep him distracted at work, I did share the link to the thread with him.
Hopefully he will drop in.

He also added that if you want to go back to stock he has OEM microprocessor's and still has the Chipswitch available as well.
