As everyone knows the antenna connector is hard to get to on the back of the radio. So I had several company 2 meter radio's laying around with their antenna connection made with about 6 inch coax cable with a connector for a pl 259 on the end. To make it short I took that off that radio and installed it on my Anytone 6666pro. Now it is so easy to connect anything to the antenna. For those wondering if it changed my SWR any it did not change the SWR.

You could do the same with a short jumper and barrel connector probably.

A short jumper with female end will work but jumpers can short out.
I'm going to put one of those on any way.
You know what they say about Murphy's Law ( If it can go wrong it will ). That's why I went with Solid connections. I come from the maintenance field and always preached Murphy's Law ! LOL
A pl259 quick connect would work for a base station.

Went with one of these extension adapters. I'll always leave it on because it works perfect. Now I don't have to fight with the limited space between the SO-239 and the heat sink anytime I may need to disconnect it. This radio is used as a base radio.
May cause a space issue with a mobile setup, there a pigtail extension would be better.

I hope you used Di-electric grease when you installed it for added protection. I don't have a paypal account or I would have bought them also but my double female & double male worked out and I had them in stock already. Enjoy !
