Turner Super Sidekick issue

Maybe not so much the solder but accumulated rosin. Some kinds can absorb humidity and become conductive.

But hey, you fingered it out. Rock on! Congratulations for sticking with it.

That was my thought when I did it. It's been an extremely humid summer so far, and I thought the old gunk may absorb moisture and act like a cap or something. Plus, I noticed that when I keyed up, the noise was a loud burst that slowly decreased to a certain point and then held a stead gain. Kinda like draining a cap. I was thinking to myself while I was scraping and brushing how stupid this is, but convinced myself to keep going. I'd be happy now if I could find an original Turner/Foster/Fostex, or whomever made them, cart to install.
