Hi all I have TRC picked up at an estate sale.. It recieves fine am and ssb..
But on transmit it's txing at 22.500 on all 40 channels am and ssb has good output power and audio the radio was partialty recaped looks like audio and power supply.. Psu puting out 13.5 v
Any one run across this issue?

Thank you

I had an old PC122 that was someone elses basket case. The PLL wouldnt lock at the correct voltages, as an experiment I added voltage to the lock line to see if the rest of the radio worked. I remember it recieved fine, but transmitted at some lower frequency, . Then after removing the added voltage I believe the radio started working properly on transmit, with double the VCO voltage spec.

Do you have a second radio you can use to see if any signal at all is coming out on the channel frequency. If that 22.5 is all that comes out you won't hear the selected channel. If you can hear that channel, alignment might be the solution.

I'm gonna guess the PLL is out of lock (since all channels are the same) and the VCO is nearly railed. The drift also suggests the VCO. It kinda sorta has to be the VCO being railed because what else can be off by almost 4.5MHz and drift 50k? Nuthin else can. That 50k drift is the critical clue here.

See what the lock detect pin on the PLL has to say.

One thing that may cause that is a missing tripler signal. Check to see if the 11.285/33.855MHz signal is there.
