US Military is now prepping US Bases

[Brother DXer]

The U.S. military is preparing its bases to operate independently for at least 90 days without outside support in case of a major conflict that disrupts power and supply chains. This initiative, known as FORTRESS, aims to ensure that military installations can sustain essential operations, including electricity, water, and communications, without relying on civilian infrastructure.

Key Components of the FORTRESS Initiative

Objectives

• Self-Sufficiency: Military bases must sustain essential operations, including:
  • Electricity
  • Water
  • Fuel
  • Communications

Implementation Strategies

• Power Generation: Bases will generate their own power, independent of civilian grids.
• Infrastructure Enhancements: Plans include:
  • Portable nuclear reactors
  • Large-scale battery storage
  • Microgrids that can operate separately from the civilian power network

Importance of the Plan

• Combat Readiness: The initiative is crucial for maintaining military operations during disruptions caused by conflicts that could damage power grids and supply chains.
• Risk Mitigation: Reducing reliance on civilian infrastructure is seen as essential to national defense.

The "portable nuclear reactor" sounds interesting.

The "portable nuclear reactor" sounds interesting.

I read that as "naquadah generator" because I nerd hard in the morning. I don't know what will happen, I will prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Hopefully others are reading between the worldwide headlines, but many will not.
