Really nice amp,i did the conversion following the CBT instructions to a Tee and the amp will not key from radio RF.If I short the emitter of the keying tranny to ground the relay keys and amp...

Thats a 3600-15c board alot like the 14b but traces are slightly different..you can use the galaxy 33 procedure for it...the regulator on them is a 817 it needs to be upgraded to a TIP 36c or it wont last long..set the bias voltage off the gate to 3.75v driver and 3.50v final,,then set dead key...
Yeah it would be nice to have the full alignment procedure for ssb offsets,rx IF cans, vco pll voltage cans and TP's,,guess we are on our own for that,,anybody know anymore info about this radio than the stupid silk screened stuff thats already obvious?
Thanks

Yes give it a try..my last one came ready to roll on 27MHz.got it from epay..also the new 200 p bipolar version did not need to be converted that I have sen.
Have fun with it!!
If the short out plug is pushed down then its converted,,if not push it down and hammer the chicken band a little lol...they are a pretty clean throw away amp,,but heck you can fix it easy too if your handy!
Flame thrower and not even an rfx-75 parasite on its back,,jesh..looks like a hacknician special to me..
Bells has a refurbished 949 for $109.

The only time I remove the slug in L14 on a 29 is if it tunes to peak with the slug backed all the way out,,other than that leave it alone,,you can watch your meter while injecting a 1khz tone into the mic,,when you turn the slug out if the average power does not dip back below peak after the...
I look at it this way,,
If you know how to use your mic gain there is nothing wrong with to much modulation at wide open,,its better to have too much and not use it than not enough wishing you had a little more...

Thanks for the review Rob..was thinking of getting one but I will pass,,maybe with a slew of upgrades it would be a little better,,I would almost buy it just for the smooth dual conversion RX as long as it was just like its older counterpart.I don't talk much on SSB anyway.
