Weird conditions the last few days for sure. Yesterday it was nothing but Hawaii all day long......nowhere else....just Hawaii. Did have a few Aussies sneaking in around sundown but not at the usual blistering signal strength. Couple days before that we had intermittent openings to Texas and...
Good grief! And yet people still keep buying them!
Not surprised they can't build and align a radio, they even seem to to struggle with basic writing skills.......they spelled "Cancelling" wrong on the box, and what the heck does "60 watts up more" mean exactly?
Nope. It's too long. SWR is higher on 40 than on 1, which means it needs to be shortened. Probably quite a bit shorter based on the 2.5 & 4.5 SWR figures quoted!

Picking up here again now too. Just talked to 101 in Pensacola and 000 Maui in the last 30 minutes.
Two day windstorm with gusts up to 60 MPH & heavy rains is in our forecast....crossing my fingers that my antennas stay up!
Probably from the factory. President seems to be headed down the same road as RCI (Ranger, Connex, Galaxy etc.) these days. Cheaper components, poor quality control, and shoddy engineering. I know a couple people who bought the Lincoln +2 and both have had problems with their radios...
The DX forecast says that there have been major geomagnetic storms the last couple days, and will likely be for a couple more days. The sun burped out a giant cloud of, um, sun stuff the other day which is what is causing this. Things should pick up again in a couple days.
It's interesting...
Turned on the radio this morning and.... hisssssssssssssssssssssss. First day in what feels like months with no skip! The sun must have burped out an excess of electrons again.
That Midland is a sharp looking radio. REALLY happy they got rid of that stupid looking "eyeglasses" front panel that the Jopix and Chierda versions have.
I'm thinking about buying another radio......I'm finding myself frustrated by the wonky encoders on both of my Anytone radios and have...
