    New Ad ( 2) NOS Turner + 3, also a Turner + 2

Someone on here recently was looking to buy a bunch of minty +3's. I think it was Greg that was looking........

    Carlbuilt 400HD vs C400 vs CM400

None of those are the way to go. As the other posters have noted they are all unfiltered class C amps and will sound awful, especially on SSB, as well as being splatterboxes. You want class A/B bias so it sounds nice and clean, and you want a filter so you're not radiating crap all up and...

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

It's the switch itself. I have heard of this problem happening. As Eldorado says, flooding it with a plastic-safe contact cleaner may help. The solution is to do what I do, and just leave the radio on 24/7...........electronics last much much longer if they stay powered on continuously...

Big switching power supplies - what's the forum favorite?

Tripp Lite. Ooof. What a pile of manure those things are. I stick with APC gear for my UPS's......never let me down yet. And my Megawatt 36 amp power supply has been running for several years now 24/7 powering my radios and amps. Zero complaints; like the energizer bunny it just keeps...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Great conditions out here on the far west coast for the last several weeks! Crazy mix of super short e-skip to nearby states and provinces, and long F2 skip to the east coast, southeast states, Caribbean, Australia, etc. etc. The regular 40 channel band was full of Japanese speaking stations...

What is the Range of a HAND HELD CB?

From inside a vehicle, no more than a mile or two on the highway, and less than a mile in urban areas. Transmit range would be even less than that. Hardly worth the bother! You would do much better with a Cobra 29 and a mag mount antenna.

Hey! There are still some folks on sideband in the Fraser Valley, but it's a shadow of what it was 35 years ago! I'm up on Cortes Island and I have maybe 6 or 7 locals within sideband range of me (80 miles or so). AM CB up here died totally and completely in the very early 2000's.

    Spam/ROBO calls

I have reached the point where I simply DON'T pick up unless I'm 100% certain I know who's calling. I have voice mail, and I figure anyone who really needs to reach me and who I don't know can leave a voice mail. If they can't be bothered to leave a voice mail then the call probably isn't very...

    Get on 38! its rocking

We're out here! I heard a couple of Oklahoma stations as recently as two days ago. Not a super common state to contact from here on the west coast, but I do it a few times a year when conditions are good.

Looking for Turner Plus Three B

Greg I'm curious what you mean by "background for my station". Are you making CB YouTube videos? Or do you just mean for room decoration? The background for my station is an ugly wall with some QSL cards and other important pieces of radio-related paper tacked to it LOL!

    11 meter is very quiet?

No it's 23 Sean, I'm on Cortes Island. Crazy conditions for after 11pm that's for sure! Just talked to 677 Tasmania & 612 New South Wales a few moments ago. Off to bed now, gotta work in the morning.....

    11 meter is very quiet?

Absolutely! And some of it's really short. Talked to Wenatchee Washington the other night.......that's only 280 miles from my QTH up here in the Discovery Islands. Lots of Saskatchewan, Alberta, Montana, Wyoming and Colorado contacts for me the last week or two. Even talked to a couple...

    WHATS THE POINT re, QT40

If it's the Radioddity version (the QT-40) and you bought it new, then it is covered by a warranty. Send it back and get another one. They are not really repairable.....it's essentially a computer/SDR in a CB case! From all I've heard it's a fantastic radio and I've heard very few complaints...

    Icom IC751 For Sale

Has it had the MARS mod done to make it useful on 11 meters? That's a good looking Icom....always liked that vintage.
