This 24 pill is like an anthill and I'm looking for my way through it.
Can someone do something with the measured values and should the values be like that?
I desoldered all 6 coax- wires coming from the input splitter and tested the "coupling points" with the RIG.

To find the problem on the 24 pill I focus on the input circuit.
I isolated the input splitter (desoldered the resistors and the coax lines.
First I measured the chokes: they are all the same (6.3 uH). Then I measured each coax cable with the RIG.
The differences are far too big for my...
Yes,
they were almost only loosely on the transistors.
The poor thing got very hot.
The owner loves the FM mode...
I've already told him what I think ;-)

How the biasing is done in this 24 pill:
I would recommend a separate resistor for each transistor to prevent from ringing effects. And the capacitor should be an ceramic one...no Elko.
The diode should generate a constant current through the base. Therefore it is necessary that it is close to...
Yes there is a LC- network. the thing is: the 24 pill worked fine- SWR better than 1:1.2 (L= 0.2 uH, C= 215 pf).
But suddenly the SWR goes to 1:3.x an i try to find the reason for that.
The RIG matches what the other radios show: The HX480, IC7300 or the FTDX10.
Note: The unit has a biasing...
I did another try on reducing some circuit parts and desoldered 1- 2 stages behind the input splitter. As a result the input SWR goes into the right direction.
But i did not find the reason for the changing to worse.
To let away the stages is not the solution ;-)
Hello,
Thank you for your answers.
In the meantime I made further measurements on the 24 pill.
First, I measured the TX connection with a RIG-Expet and it showed exactly what the Icom 7300 had already indicated.
I then unsoldered the coax cable on the relay and soldered a 50 ohm resistor...
Hello,
I got a 24 pill here from a friend. He gave me the error description high SWR (1:3.5)
The ICOM7300 is not able to improve the SWR with the ATU.
I measured the TX input with a RIG Expert and tested various components. Unfortunately, the best SWR was 1:2.4. I bought an LC meter and noticed...
Hi :-)
yesterday i made the setup and got an SWR 1:1.5 @ desired frequency.
In the evening I have built the antenna on a mountain of 900 m height.
I had many QSO the biggest distance was nearly 500 km (300 miles) via ground wave.
The Gizzy is really the best one i ever had on the mountain. I...
Thank you Marconi and Unit75 :)
What i did:
I just made the setup for the Driven Element and reached an SWR of 1:1.0 at 27 MHz- as desired @ 15 feed above ground.
Everything looks fine. The <2.00:1 SWR bandwidth (BW) is about 1 MHz (27 MHz +- 500 kHz)
Then i put on the Reflector Element: The...
Hello,
i bought the G31 and after that i bought 2 additional boosters.
So i have a G51 :D
But: I try to make the setup but i did not get really good SWRs.
I need help
Is there anyone who can give me the working lenghts of the elements and spacings please? Center frequenz should be...
