Yeah, they give you the option to install 1 or 2 fans. You can see the 12 holes on the heatsink, and 3 slots in the chassis depending on where you mount the fan(s). I see those are 40x20mm fans, I might want to try some 40x10mm fans so the radio doesn't get too much longer.

This radio (and even the FCC version) are about the size I'm looking for. Currently running a President Ronald, but really want SSB again. This radio looks like it has what I'm looking for in a a size that works. Though, in reality, I should just finally get my Kenwood TS-480SAT installed...

A Yaesu FT-857 would cover all those frequencies, or any other DC-to-Daylight radio. You can also get a quad band antenna that covers 10m, 6m, 2m, and 70cm, so tuning it a little different for 11m and the GMRS frequencies just above the Ham band should be doable. Would probably throw off the...

I really like R&L, their shop reminded me of an old time electronics shop last time we dropped in... years ago. Quicksilver used to come to our little hamfest, but he got too big and hasn't been there in years. Usually hires nice eye candy for Dayton. ABR is solid stuff, and they're proud of it.

I lost count years ago. Between CB, Ham, FRS, GMRS, etc... It's bad. :)

Would be nice if there was some "gentleman's agreement" on which channel was used for what purpose, but for that to happen, there would have to be rational human beings.
