Move antenna up closer to the cab. I had my 22" mounted right on the top of my F-150 for 7 yrs or so and never had it break.
You probably have different lengths of coax and maybe different brands that might cause the difference.
My /-/-/-/-/ beam has always showed a few watts less than my GP, but I have different brands of feedline and different length also.
