Hi, I was asking about a schematic for a "black label" Palomar 225 a while back and was wondering if anybody was able to find it? I have one for blue label 225 & they def aren't the same! Thanks

So are you saying that it can't be used as a HF amp? What if the VHF transistors were swapped out for MRF455's (and a bunch of other parts, no doubt!)? Or am I screwed by the Chinese yet again? Lol

I bought a $100 bj-300 linear(?) amp and attempted 1 time to hook it up and to put it mildly, it did not go well...AT ALL! I've never seen so much screeching feedback , high swr, ant warning lights going off at once! I'm surprised something didn't explode or at least burst into flames! Lol...

That's interesting. Thanks for your response. This one has a pair of MRF455's, do you suppose the ones you mentioned with the SRF3749's are better, or more powerful? I gave a hundred dollar bill for it, didn't even try to talk the guy down. Excited to get variable dead key installed on my radio...

Thanks! I have no problem with pulling the PC board out and desoldering that cap! I want to clean the flux off it anyway and put fresh thermo paste on the power transistors.

I just picked up a blue label Palomar 225 with 2 455's (see pics). I am wondering if it's possible to eliminate the delay when keying it up, and when were these made, if they are "good" amps (better than black label 225's?), and how much they should actually put out with a proper "low dead key"?
