    Coax Comparison

I use all LMR-240 with a 60 foot run on my base. Also going to use it when my beam goes up this spring. Easy to work with and doesn't take up too much room. So far, performance has been exemplary.

I'm sure everyone remembers me noise issue... (update)

Yeah, I hear ya. Make a handheld sniffer and knock on doors. Maybe you'll find some people willing to help.

But the FCC rule says a device cannot introduce noise into CB radio. Go online and fill out a complaint, document everything and give names and addresses.

Well, when I filled out my complaint, I mentioned the supervisor's name from the city who worked on the issue, the renter's names and the home owners names. And, gave all the addresses and phone numbers as well. I told them we tried to contact them, tried to work it out but they slammed the door...

    Coax, null or not?

I agree. Some cheap, garbage antennae will use the shield as a counterpoise and cutting the excess will whack out the match. I've been there as well. 99.999% of the antennae I have installed have been 108" whips or ground planes and have found the best jumper is the shortest jumper.

    Coax, null or not?

All I can tell is my experience. I have no analyzer so this is just real world. I have a radio, jump[er to meter, jumper to amp, jumper to meter, jumper to antenna switch and then antenna. My SWR is flat for a very wide range. I have had this configuration in many different [positions on the...

I'm sure everyone remembers me noise issue... (update)

The only thing I received from the FCC was a confirmation email with a ticket number, automated, I'm sure. An informal complaint has no way to follow, no updates, no correspondence. According to the rules, the offender is supposed to get a letter and they have 30 days to take care of the issue...

    How about it?

Nope. No ants, either!! A little cool down in my radio cubby, but I'll make it!

    How about it?

These last couple of days we're experiencing ice quakes. The sound like sonic booms during the day. Shake the ground and the house.

I'm sure everyone remembers me noise issue... (update)

I can't honestly say that what they did was intentional. However, I had the city power crew working daily for nearly a month, going thru the entire distribution line in the neighborhood. They even piggybacked my distribution network to another one, eliminating my transformer. When all was said...

I heard you yesterday and tried to get to you but there was a huge pile up. Don't know if you heard me or not.
