ive got a palomar 400 linear that doesnt have a ssb switch ...can in be used in ssb mode?

i have a thunderbolt 305 that is in excellent condition.....the tubes were installed new when it was taken out of service...its been on the shelf for the last 5yrs....needs new home...the town i live in grew up around me and am no longer able to use linears...bank next door...my varmint set off...
