Yea put the replacement CPU in and it works just fine like it did before. I even have found another one to have as a spare incase this ever happens again
I ask if you fixed yours because my issue is very similar I'll explain a little about my issue ..
If I make a small quick lil sound it gets good modulation on there meter and RF output, but to talk into it normally then it will only produce around 50% modulation at best and only around 6 watts...
have you solved the issue ?? I'm having a similar issue my Modulation just kinda dropped out to like 60% a light quick sound it jumps up but talking it won't go anywhere near 90-100% it was working fine then it just went down for no reason it's a brand new 2995DXCF color display model brand new...
Is that what it calls for is a 1-1/2 watt DeadKey input ? That's what I've been running in mine for many years no issues. But what bites is my radio has a built in amplifier so it's only single final so with the internal amplifier off i only get 9 watts of drive lol so I can't get the full...
Most certainly is , wish it wasn't so or that someone would make a replacement part for it that would be awesome! The 2990 is one hella radio in my opinion iv owned 100s of radios and the 2990 is one of my all time favorites
I found someone with one , its on its ways i just hope that it works !!! Ill definitely start looking for another one for a spare in the mean time . I will definitely be more cautious hear on out with this radio & all of my other RCI now that i know the CPU are easily killed & a vital component...
Yea mine went into permanent TX mode but unfortunately it was my fault had a failure on a microphone and im guessing it sent voltage into the radio and now its stuck in permanent TX

I have a 667v i just got that was only doing about 280 watts opened it up & its got a Burnt Torid & resistor is burnt in half , whats the chance i can replace the torid & resistor and it will work full output???
