Silver eagle to Yaesu FT-840

Hi.... an old post I know but totally relavant to me today.. Just wiring a D104 to the Ft840,,, BUT I only have 4 wires from the mic... No Blue... so I just wired the shield to 7...... mic sounds good but wierd things happen with the radio,,, AM seems disabled/just causes error bleep and FAST...
