Well I've got the Sirio performer 5000, just waiting on my new 980 from Snake Radio Customs. Thanks for posting the video link. Reno has a nice ride and set up.
When the nostalgia bug bites, I'll pay more than something is actually worth (within reason). Currently assembling a modest collection of tuners, scanners and CB radios based ones I owned in my youth (70's). It's been fun and I'm going to set up a new shack to house everything.
The mount itself is great and easy to install, that wheel with the notches marries up nicely to the mount and you can get it very snug. This mount is way better than the motorola NMO mount I had used for a VHF antenna.
You'll see what I'm talking about when you install yours; I did put that...
Well my camera is back from repair, so I grabbed a couple of pics to illustrate my original question. In the first pic you may see the base is smaller than the bottom of the antenna. When screwed down tightly it somewhat distorts the gasket that fits on the bottom of the antenna. In pic two you...

Gotta say the mount itself was of high quality and was simple to install the vehicle.
The antenna right out of the package was a low SWR of 1.2 on ch 1 and...
Camaro- what puzzled me was that the bottom fitting (against the vehicle body) is narrower than the bottom of the antenna. When I tighten down on it the wider bottom gasket (that comes with the antenna) does not seem to fit right/keep its shape as you tighten it down, not conforming to the...
If anyone has installed a Sirio 5000 on the SG-AC/U body mount, I'd really appreciate a close up photo of the mount installed with antenna attached.
I'd also like your opinion of the mount & antenna combination

I agree with Sonoma. Have the same fuel pump noise issue with my Hyundai Accent. A member of another forum named Roadrage recommended ferrite chokes, and I've been experimenting with them. Have had moderate success on the battery side of the power lines to the CB. He also recommended putting a...
Looking to swap a Uniden 680 for a Uniden Pro 520xl. The 680 was purchased about 2 months ago from DTB radio and came peaked and tuned. I like the 680 and it performs just fine, but really need the smaller 520xl, the 2" difference in width is a big deal for me in my sub-compact car. If you have...
Bam, the most compassionate and humane thing you could was to put your beloved dog to sleep. We made the mistake (twice) of holding on to long. We were thinking more of ourselves rather than the animal. You did the right thing.
