Just found a Cobra 20+ in some boxes we had in the basement.
It has 3 wires black, red, and orange. What is the orange wire for?
Thinking about putting it in an old 4x4 for use on trail rides.
Are 20 plus Cobras decent compact CBs?
Is this radio any good? Looking for a cheap rig to throw in an old Jeep.
No long distance communication just using on trail rides.
Can it be modded and who can do it?
Looking at the factory returns at Uniden here.

Ammo Can idea sounds good.
Look at West Marine or Boaters World. They have enclosures for marine electronics that will work well.
Ammo Can would be cheaper though.
Is the Maco pretty easy to set up and tune? Master Chief at your reccomendation I believe I will set my sights on one. I like aluminum better than fiberglass anyway. Is there a place I could buy the antenna cheaper than ebay?
16 local and 38lsb. Which is better a Maco V58 for 90.00

Or an Antron 99 for 66.00...
Heard him from Atlanta, Georgia today this afternoon. I lived down the street from him the last 5 years. My station needs a lot of work but tell him 985 South Louisiana said hello and I've moved to North Georgia.
Thanks Doc! I remember you from the old EEI forum. Vertical on a tree say 40 feet off the ground measured from the end of the lowest leg? How would that be for SSB long distance???
