BBI amps, anyone heard of them?

No-no-no, it's the 8877 sitting behind the collectible Bulldog Watt Meter .

Is Icom 761 ALC compatable with Ameritron AL-82

Yes REALLY, did I seem to stutter? Um, is your definition of Automatic Level Control different than mine? Maybe you should call it "Automatic LID Controller" *You* need to get a better watt meter, maybe start with a Bird 43P and go from there. If it is that critical to you, then, maybe...

Is Icom 761 ALC compatable with Ameritron AL-82

A-L-C Automatic Level Control "We don't need no stinkin' ALC", real operators use MLC Manual Level Control All the ALC is going to do is try to cut your radio back at a certain level; keep an eye on your audio and your wattmeter. Ask for signal reports when you are on the air to...

    FYI

They have written hundreds of NAL's but, this one seems to be special, the FCC-EB via court order requested records of the company's suppliers, distributors, and, where the finished products went to. It was food for thought. .

    RG8X wattage????

No Glitch in 'da software.......just tells you how long I've been around. Surely you remember that. We were both correct, my general comments were specifically about 50 ohm coax used in a single band application and, they were only my humble opinions garnered from 40 + years of RF...

    Blc 300 tubes.

The assumption on my part is that it is a Kenrich Eagle 400 or 5xx series. The 20LF6's never saw 20 volts on the filaments because most houses are set up at 117 vac at the electrical outlets. 117 divided by 5 is not 20. Plug the new tubes in, you will have to either add a turn on the tank...

    RM Italy KL-503 Lost Bias?

I looked but, could not find a 1 X 4 RM-Italy Amp, here is a roadmap for a straight 4 transistor amp. In the colored in area, you will find the bias components, at the base of the input x-formers, there should be .6 vdc. There are 2 transistors, TR5 and TR6 as well as diodes which form a...

    RG8X wattage????

Whoa, at what point did the OP mention anything about an "Impedence Mismatch" and, why in the process of troubleshooting a bad piece of coax (not connected to anything) would a "Impedence Mismatch" be an issue with a DC operated VOM? "QRN", perhaps you might now tell him HOW to properly match...

    RG8X wattage????

I am not sure that I understand the problem but, I would cut off 9 feet of it, put PL-259's on it and test it into a 50 ohm dummy load; you should read 1.0 to 1 SWR on your meter. Test OK, then go to the other end of the coax run and repeat the procedure again. You will probably will find the...

    Tube's : matched pair ??

You have to have faith in the person who sold them to you (don't use that BIG outfit out of California, they don't "Match" anything. You unit has a biad adjustment that will compensate for the difference in currents drawn by the individual tubes. .

    Galaxy 1000 final tubes ID

Exactly, those tubes are not interchangable. The 6LW6 will not work in the 8908 circuit, if there were no internal connection between the cathode and the suppresor, you would be in business. The suppressor grid needed to be grounded while the cathode is driven by RF.

    Tubes omg tubes

Sure, as long as the filaments connected in series total out to equal the approximate line voltage 112 or 220 VAC, there was a bifilar choke to keep the RF out of the house wiring and, the tubes are not "directly heated cathodes" you could do that; why hell, this is America you could do anything...

    T match circuit

I thought that T-network were primarily High Pass Filter; shows you what I know.... Electrically, in your application, the "T-Match" is a paralled tuned circuit that will be fed with a Capacitor that is tapped somewhere down the coil. Stick with the tried and trusted Pi-network. .
