    Question requiring collective help???

The hoist up a tree may be doable. My old house I have a A99 about 20-30 feet up- racket strapped to the tree trunk. I paid a professional tree trimmer $100 to put it in the tree for me. Worked great and hidden. I would recommend anyone that has the resources try a similar setup. Thanks again.

    Question requiring collective help???

Thank you. I had thought about a dipole between trees. I do had plenty of trees available. Also I thought about the pre-made Double Bazookas.

    Question requiring collective help???

Logically this may be an impossible problem, but I believe with the collective knowledge we may have an educated answer. My father owns a hunting camp in Northern Pennsylvania. Its just about were Elk, Cameron and Clearfield counties meet. Beautiful area, without any light pollution from...

Finally heard something on Patrolman 50

If you have the opportunity. hooking up to an external outdoor antenna will increase your receive a great deal. Not trying to get you into a big time project. I have a scanner running in the house. I ended up with an extra antenna- I had bought Workman Saturn B-100- 39 inch, no ground plane...

What kind of antenna are you using? Do you have it hooked to an external antenna?

Don't know if it works but it was free.

Hope you get it up and running. My memory fails me, but I think that radio has very good filtering on the receive. I always appreciated the sound of those old Midlands.

Crazy thoughts lead to questions ???

I have the same type of setup on my 2017 Nissan Rouge. Three foot Firestik does good for local stuff and I can still go thru Drive-Thrus. I upgraded the antenna stud to a Tram Big Cat stud. The mount will handle my 9 foot stainless steel whip with the big spring too. I just run the big whip...

What electronics have YOU fixed lately?

'Just woke up and cleaned up an old 2003 Dell mini-tower PC for my boy's to try out some old PC games. Or, mainly for me to play a version of Battleship on the PC, it shows the big guns firing. It was not a big job. It was a matter of just cleaning up the dust, cleaning the DVD drives, I...

Just checking in and saying hi....

Totally understandable. My A+ certification test was on Windows 3.1 and MS-DOS 6.2- totally dating myself. I have much more parts along the lines of resurrecting old PCs. My soldiering skills leave a lot to be desired. I really should pick up that skill. I never got into programming- just...

Just checking in and saying hi....

Nothing technical about this idea. You are right on there. I love the sound of the old Midlands. No digital processing. Pick up that mic and instantly you are transported back to a different world, "you got a copy on me Pig Pen?" Keep on resuscitating old radios. Lost pieces of art from...

Return any Craftsman tools to ACE or LOWES lately??

We all know gone are the days of walking into a SEARS store with a boxes of rusted tools you bought in a garage sale and asking the clerk of new ones. The old man at the counter and would look at the box and say, " looks like you got a early 1960's 3/8 drive socket handle- it's rusted up pretty...
