Chelco 23- Channel CB, Anyone Seen One Before?

You can add that one to list of other ACT-1914 radios. I changed all of them to except 4 pin Cobra mics. Service manual and schematic to follow.

    Johnson Mouse-enger 250

This is an example of what I do whenever I replace those Axial caps. I usually measure the distance between the mounting holes to approximate the lead bends before mounting the cap vertically. There should be plenty of room to mount those smaller caps vertically in your base. That is not always...

    Johnson Mouse-enger 250

I have Sam’s 60 for the Johnson Messenger 250, but give me a few weeks to post. I usually take that time to enhance the manual and splice the schematic together. Meanwhile, CB tricks has the complete manufactures version, and a small service bulletin component change that will improve the tone...

If you were a pirate broadcaster, what's playing right now?

I haven’t heard from Jonny Lang in a few years. Reportedly he has vocal cords issues. Love the gospel style Hammond organ accompaniment.

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!! B&K 1040 cb servicemaster

By viewing the schematic that I posted previously on this thread. R1 = 62 ohms, R2 = 100 ohms, and R 3 = 470 ohms. Those resistors play an integral part with SWR calibration as well as diodes D1 and D2. R1 and R2 are often replaced with variable resistors for more precise calibration in many...

    Favorite QRP rigs

As a novice back in 1964, I discovered that My Heathkit DX20 operated as a QRP rig. In the “Grid Tune” position only the 6CL6 oscillator will function. This all came as a big surprise to me one day while practicing code. Stations started to respond to my practice session….. Oops!

If you were a pirate broadcaster, what's playing right now?

This is Thunderstorm Artis singing his version of “Blackbird.” I’ll never forget this cover song he did on the Voice back in 2020. I was also pleasantly surprised hearing him perform again the other day on American Idol singing “Island Style.” After this, I’ll probably buy one of his albums...

Did I miss a memo or something??? (GE 3-5811B related)

I’m wondering if Switch S5 (part of mic jack) is not fully disengaging after the mic is plugged in. To eliminate that possibility, I would swap that 5 pin Din with a 4 pin standard, plus rewire it to fit any 500 ohm Cobra mic. Pin 1 Ground, Pin 2 Audio, Pin3 TX, Pin4 RX. That’s something I do...

    How about it?

It’s a sunny, balmy day in Western NY, 34 deg F. The snow melting encourages the Deer in our back yard to feast on the grass underneath.

    Sams PhotoFacts Collection

Another enhanced service manual and redrawn schematic of the Lafayette Dyna-Com 12A. Our Civil defense team once used these and other Dyna-Com 5 watt variations. I remember many of the proud owners treated them with great affection. Custom carrying cases were the norm. Other than occasional...
