also am power seems to be ok 5 watt dead key with about 12 watt swing but ssb seems to only get about 12 as well and that's where it starts to cut out and swr readings go up on dummy load external meter shows no swr but internal meter shows its there but using another radio to monitor it i still...

yeah i was thinking about that last night about it sending out harmonics witch is why i checked the bias and wouldn't ya know someone has been playing around with vr112 and 113 both were set WAY to high so i backed them down i got vr112 right at 50ma bit i could not get vr 113 below 100ma

haven't had much time to tinker with it but i had the idea of checking the bias witch for this radio should be 50ma on both driver and final correct. and with a multimeter set to the 20A scale 50ma should read out 0.05 correct?

i could be a cold solder joint somewhere when i removed the heatsink to replace the so 239 the driver next to the final seem to have a few legs that were not soldered to the board right and came loose but i went through and fixed that issue

No recieve seemed ok but the mic jack does seem a little loose as in when i tighten the mic plug the whole jack tends to turn but i wouldent think that would be it

went and changed out those capacitors mentioned and same issue tried checking swr card didn't see anything bad there either idk am still seems to work awesome and ssb gets random swr spikes like there's something intermittent

Yeah i dont think i really want to break that but on the other hand i do have a parts radio that still has that card in it

your asking me to desolder one grond tab at a time and check for continuity between it and the ground foil correct. even though its desoldered it should still have continuity because of the other ground tab still being connected and those two have a trace on the riser card connecting the two right?

No havent recieved them yet and lol im not worried to much about ruining the board its just the fack it would.be way easyer with a desoldering iron

i did hook a 3 foot jumper and ran one lead to the jumper and the other to the case and the grounding tabs on the swr card plus the for spots mentioned up top all seem to check out might wait until i can get a desoldering gun to desolder the ground tabs on the swr card i have desoldering wick...

so your saying lift the one ground tab at a time and check for continuity between the case or foil ground and the ground tab i lifted correct? and i actually just put the radio back together installed the mica insulator on both final and ground plus a new so 239 connecter and AM still works...
