If that's the case, there is no polarity and AC powered, the only + and - markings visible are on the large posts. IDK, I'll keep searching the net to see if I can get a positive identification on the posts. Thanks for the reply! UDX-4570 Palm Springs wavin!⚡️

I was thinking the same thing, but I can't see it being AC power, or maybe the manufacturer expects you to use the + or - on the large connections as a reference??? Thank you for the reply. UDX-4570 Palm Springs wavin ⚡️

    "S" unit panel mounted meter

Hello crew: This is new to me, this S meter has 4 posts on the back, the large ones have a + and - marked on the meter, the two small ones have the letter "L" marked on the meter next to the posts. This meter is a N.O.S. made in Japan, a very nice meter I must add, but as for the two...

Iam confused now..lol Bells, Yikes!!!... he is the clown I purchased my 2970N3 from, it was during the Covid crap and Bells was the only guy that had any radios available, and exactly one week from the warranty expiring, my finals smoked, go figure. Luckily I ran into a local who performed...

Welp my friend, after about an hour with a magnifying glass and a 5,000 lumen light, the schematics dropped regarding the "External "S" meter" phono jack hook up, I couldn't find ANYTHING on the RCI 2970n3 circuit board that matched the schematic. Any other.suggestions would be greatly...

    looking for the right antenna

If your a DX operator, having a low takeoff angle is choice for that sort of work. Like you, and coincidental, my Gainmaster feed point is only 4'F off the ground and mounted to a 50lb cast iron patio umbrella stand, my current location won't allow my to set up a tower, no biggie, My Gainmaster...

Yeah, they're great antennas don't understand why they are only engineered to handle 500 whiskeys, but that's okay.

I have the Sirio gainmaster 5/8 wave, it's far superior to the A99's.

    looking for the right antenna

I have the "Sirio Gainmaster 5/8's wave, the antenna beats the daylights out of an A99. The Gainmaster is "Center fed" and has an RF choke on the base by the feedpoint to "De-couple" the RF signal from the feed line. You can get these Gainmasters for about the same price as an A99.
