Does anyone have experience using a usb oscilloscope with an older laptop? If so, what make and model would be suitable for HF?

    Replacement bulb for remote vfo

I have a Drake RV-4 remote vfo and power supply. The bulb is burned out for the dial. The bulb and the schematic says it is an H53 bulb. Google assist says this bulb is not the same as an automotive 53 bulb. I've searched for a replacement bulb and am getting no where. Any ideas on how to find a...

    Unknown Torroid

Found some Amidon literature and it is likely a T157-2 (red mix, iron powder). I was thinking of bifilar winding with 14 gauge thhn with as many turns as I can for a choke on a 40m dipole.

    Unknown Torroid

Ran across a torroid I bought but lost packaging. It is 1.58 in od, .955 in id, and .57 in high. The color is all red with exception of bottom face which is gray. Anyone able to identify this torroid?

    Newbie antenna build

Also, if I buy a used power/swr meter, what is a good option? TR4 will put out a lot more than 100 watts.

    Newbie antenna build

I have a Drake TR4CW , a Bencher iambic key and an MFJ 442 Keyer. Just took tech and general test and now studying for extra. Really want to get into cw. Also, I want to get into antenna builds. Got my eye on building a swiss quad for 15 meter ( not too big and some really good plans).

    Newbie antenna build

I'm new to amateur radio and on a budget. I have a vintage hf rig and want to get started. I plan to build an antenna and read that a noise bridge would be an inexpesive approach to tuning. Should I get something ling an old heathkit hd-1422 or use a k7qo bridge from qrpguys? Thanks
