    The entire bottom is cut out. It's held in with the bracket attached to the side. When installing it,air flow was a priority. What you don't see are the holes i cut in the sides and back of the console for air flow. And when i talk,the lid is off anyway. :D

    I cut the bottom of the console out to fit around the radio. The heat sink is maybe 1/2" from the floor.
