The Cobra 2000 GTL Rules

Rules? Rules what? Anytime your ready to bring that thing up here to Dallas, I'll hook-up my little Cobra 19 IV against it, and you'll be heading back down to the Dome with your tail between your legs! HAHAHAHAHA!

Dj, do yourself a favor, and put that radio back on the shelf where it belongs...

By the way, ever fix your antenna set-up? Or are ya still trying to figure out why ya can't get-out, running that Dual Coil and Single Coil 10K at the same time?

dj man, if you're going to mistreat a 2000 by driving it around in the mobile, just sell it to me real cheap, and i'll give it a nice little home in my cb room!(y)

Still drooling over your mobile 2000 I mean 2000 GTL huh DJ? The 142 gtl was every bit the radio just not as fancy. In fact I think the 142 that I had worked better than the 2000 I had. SO yeah, next topic junior. DO you have any more topics?

268,

the 142gtl is a single conversion receiver.
the 2000GTL is a dual conversion receiver.

if you know what that means, then you know why the 2000gtl is a
much better radio to have than a 142gtl.

I never had one but I was told it was basicly the same as my maddison but with a built in freq. counter? hey loosecannon do you know if the maddison is single or dual conversion receive?

Chuck

if your madison is the newer version with the MB8719 chip in it, then it is a dual conversion receiver, and is the same radio as the 2000GTL minus the freq. counter.

the madison has two different versions. one had the upd858 chip in it and was the same as the cobra 139xlr, and the later version had the mb8719 chip and was the same as the 2000gtl.

if your madison has a digital clock, then it is the newer version.
if it has an analog clock, then you will have to remove the top cover and check the PLL chip.

both great radios!
