Alaskan bush people!!? These people never lived in the bush! What a joke! Leather motorcycle jackets? Now I know why I only watch pbs and the like. Where did those accents come from? I'm positively sure these kids watched brave heat about 10.000 times. As far as getting some local women thay should just do with there father did, bang there sisters! TV sucks! Transciving rocks!

I was wondering the same thing about the accents. Based on their teeth, I though maybe it was British.

I saw the one last night where one of them was talking about how "it's awkward when you bring a pretty girl back from town because all my brothers stare at her...". I had visions of him popping the trunk to reveal a girl bound and gagged as he proclaims "this one's mine", while waving a gun to keep his brothers back.

A nose scrunchy nasal sound. Like they're talking out of their nose and a good helping of Valley Girl dialect for the girls.

I find all "reality" television to be not only fake and scripted, but completely nauseous. And what in the hell are restaurant, survivalist, and gunsmith shows doing on something like the "History" Channel? Wouldn't it be great if the History Channel focused on world and American history? Why do I have to be subjected to shows like "American Loggers," "Orange County Choppers," and "American Pickers?" Since when did current events be substituted for "history?"

This is also why I think that television, in its current form, is on its death bed. Many of us pay for television "services" from a cable or satellite provider where we're subscribed to a couple hundred channels even though we only watch about 5 or 6 of them. And, of those five or six channels, we only actually pay attention to a handful of shows.

It's like that old Springsteen song where there's two hundred channels and nothing's on. My kids don't really watch "TV" anymore -- they only view the things that interest them on Netflix and Amazon Prime. My wife's almost there, although she does still watch some "daytime" morning programming (basically a bunch of chic shows where there's an audience of supposedly-grown women howling like teenagers to every word the host utters (Ellen, Queen Latifa, ect.)). /barf

Hopefully we're reaching a point where we can just get rid of the crap we're not interested in, and just pay for the programming we're actually interested in viewing.

I watch the news early in the AM, and a handful of channels during the week, but I do not spend much time on anything else.
Reality TV is a Joke, seriously.
Anything to turn up the childish drama.
The History channel at one time was on my favorites list....no longer.
"American Loggers"
Who wants to watch a hour of guys acting like children having temper tantrums and can not work together and get anything done?
I would fire 90% of them.
If that is supposed to be a cross section of the American logging industry, we are all in deep shit.
I would rather go water my tomato plants.

About 2 yrs ago when we had our "pirate" satellite working, I was getting 530 channels, but, only 23 of those we ever watched.
So now we are back on (free) OTA antenna system, not to much to watch, but it's FREE!

Oh Ya - Alaskan Bush People......that show does suck!!

You watched 23 channels? I think that's on the high end for most people. Here's a low-down on channels I watch:

I don't watch any cable news channels or the "Big 3" news networks because all of the news they have on is a re-transmit of whatever was linked on Drudge, Huffpo, or the Daily Kos a day or two before (it's not "news" if it's "old"). Since I've already seen what was linked on their sites, I don't need to see it a second time a day or two later on my television screen.

History Channel (when they're doing actual history)
National Geographic
The Learning Channel (when they're not making attempts at "reality" TV)
The Discovery Channel
And whatever channel happens to be playing the latest episode of Family Guy or South Park (because I have a politically incorrect inner child inside me that needs this programming to activate the "purge" valve in my brain. ).
