Orange wire on Cobra 20 plus

Just found a Cobra 20+ in some boxes we had in the basement.
It has 3 wires black,red,and orange. What is the orange wire for?
Thinking about putting it in an old 4x4 for use on trail rides.
Are 20 plus Cobras decent compact CBs?

Orange is for the channel memory. It is tied to an always-on 12-v source

Not a bad radio for its compact size.It should work fine for your mobile sset up.They can be tuned up with a decent deadkey and fair audio.
