I was listing to local hifers here in Houston like a few months ago on ch 11 and one guy had the worst most muffled audio I have ever heard. A few other people on the channel said his audio was straight muffled crap and the guy got really pissed off and wanted to fight with them. They guy claimed his radio was all peaked tuned and tweaked up by a topnotch tech 
I'm not sure if it's the audio that was made on the recording, but both those station sound absolutely horrendous. I've heard audio man and I don't recall what his audio sounded like on air, but if your video gate is representative of what he sounds like, a handle change is in order. More like SHITAUDIO-MAN.
Of course a lot of other folks hear this stuff

Problems dont go away by just ignoring it.
Some of these aholes been doing this bs for several years now.

Just playing devils advocate here, but i wonder if the motive behind some of these guys' antics is an attempt to move people to the other SSB channels and clear up some of the clutter on 38.
im sure most of us remember that it used to be 36-39 were the most popular skip freqs for SSB, and activity would bleed off on either end of those channels.
now it seems like everyone just goes right to 38 and calls over the top of one another.
Don't take it as letting these guys win if you decide to try and call on 37 or 39 because of the craziness on 38.
the more people that get heard on 37, well, the more people there will be to hear on 37.
i actually enjoy calling CQ on channel 37. there are enough people tuning through the band at any given time that i usually catch someone on their way to 38.
and guess what! on channel 37 we can actually have a QSO!!!
