Mic recomendations for the 2970n2

Since Clay's Radio recommendation was the RK56, I chose to have one included with my purchase.

Can't tell you anything yet....not hooked up. Trying to get my hands on 6 or 8 gauge wire today.

Need to check antenna connections out also before install.

But.....there's a gun show down in Robstown this weekend......so......maybe no get Round-tuit.

If you already have a D104 go that route. I ran a couple through the years on a variety of cb/exports... always had good reports as long as background wasn't too loud. My rule was turn the D down all the way and then crack it open just a hair. Like 1/8 of the way up.. crank up the mic gain on the radio and let it do the work. Worked for me.

Enjoy your N2.. I have had a couple 2970s but never a N2 flavor..will try one out one of these days..

The neighbor just set up a 2950, and I don’t personally think the stock mic leaves a lot of room for improvement. It’s pretty easy on the ears.

Don’t blame you for wanting to try, though. I did the same with my Lincoln. After lots of waffling back and forth, I still favored the D104M6B, so that’s what I’ve been running.

Still want to try several others.
