Took a chance on E-bay. Seller looked like estate sale items. Anyway, it’s was untested. No way to test item. I have 18.00 into it total. The SWR reads accurately, but have to adjust all the way up to reach the set point. The watt meter barely moves. I am sure this has seen better days maybe 40 years ago. Pretty much clean expect for the crack in the meter plastic. I opened it up and sprayed with CRC contact cleaned. Not any better. Can older watt meters be repaired at all?

Thanks a lot. The KW-1 came along with a Philippines Uniden 76XL with the warranty cards from 1992. I got both for 50 shipped so I am pleased even though the meter's not perfect. Opened up the 76XL I can not see any type of hack job work. The final is a 2029, if I am seeing it correctly. It is missing one of its tuning slugs. Both are projects in the near future.

Not enough power driving it? It looks like low scale is 100w.
 
Here is part of the “to do” pile. The Heathkit meter is working but needs a trimmer on the 2000 watt scale. Easy to add when I get the time. The Pace meter is done and works except the Field Strength section doesn’t function and I have no antenna for it.
These are but a few of the projects I use as “busy work” to keep my mind and hands active.
