Hmm. Thinking about the way WW2 fighter pilots would register a kill in battle, with a small stencil of the enemy flag or symbol for each one, typically below the rim of the canopy.

Thinking of a rubber stamp with the outline of two parallel 2879s. Stamp it on the front fender once for each set of transistors you have to replace.

This is funny cause when I worked for Pepsi years ago, they did that with Coke bears on the route trucks if they sold more Pepsi in a store than the Coke guy did. Like “they” sold it... but funny anyway.

Was really funny when I’d crawl in a route truck with a Diet Coke... they hate that, it’ll get you fired if you’re wondering.

I have never popped a transistor in an amp I have owned and never poped a final in a radio I have owned.

I do not envy any of you veteran technicians that have had to deal with Cb'ers and popped amp transistors! I saw my mentor have to put up with some of that crowd.
