can anybody point me in the right direction for a FULL alignment procedure for the emperor shogun/ts5010 or midland alan 9001,
i need to align the cpu/oscillator board,
i have never had a problem before but some divvy has screwed every can on the small pcb and messed up the stepping,
i know setting the oscillators will fix the stepping but theres other stuff on there been twiddled with the golden driver,
a full alignment would be sweet, if i cant get the info then some precision guesswork will have to do

thanks.

At the top of that page click the view page in russian.
It will down load the file in RAR.format, Then use a translator/ sink lur nupar rusky.(since you don't speak russian)

Hmm, I just tried the link and it works here. Let me know if you still want the schematic and I will download it to my FTP site and send you a link.

thanks rich i got it,
still looking for full alignment,
i have done several b4 very similar to the lincoln at first glance but i never had to fix one in this state, its a scrapper that some smartass went into with a hot poker lol,
i had 4 cheap mrf477's from ebay in the parts bin so i thought why not i need to see if these 477's are fake,
its up and running a quick twiddle and it sounds decent on ssb and close to regular wattage and output match is good ;) ,

i sorted the oscillators and the stepping is good now,
somebody had put the wrong slug in one transformer,
it was way too long had golden screwdriver damage on the unexposed end and stuck so far out of the transformer that replacing the lid pulled it way of frequency,
the best bit was how they secured it hardly in the transformer with hot melt glue the universal ferrite fixative lmao,
the result was very touchy tuning almost impossible to set and impossible to get it to stay there,
i pulled a slug from another transformer on the board and snipped the one they put in to the same 1/3 size with sharp scissors and put it back in,
the slug is where it should be inside the transformer and the oscillator is stable with both the lid and temperature,

i unlocked the clarifier gave it a standard tune and rechecked bias then went on air,

now the beatup old thing is getting reports of superb ssb audio from all locals and my most learned hifi eared friend says it does not sound at all like a cb :!: better than my ts5010 in a/b tests
looks like somebody changed the ssb filter as its taller and sounds wider than my own radio,

very happy with that thanks folks.

"Emperor Alignment" being the title of this thread, I just wanted to point out that, in some empires in the past, the Emperors were aligned by pointing a sword at them and telling them what to say and what to do ...

...what's that?.....wrong kind of emperor?...

Never mind

Bob I know its a bit late but for future reference here is a site that will tell you the alignment process for quite a few rigs including the 9001

I believe the 9001 is the same board as the president lincoln anyway
