Hello all, I'm hoping to find something out. I have a 2000 gtl and I'm trying to figure out what this is and why it is in here. I don't think it's factory. Any insight or ideas are greatly appreciated. 73's

It looks like it is soldered to L6. The two wires soldered to L6 go into the same side of the core but I cannot see where the other ends go. There are also some caps with long legs sticking up, but I cannot tell if they are soldered to the coil leads or what those are for. It also looks like there might be a smaller winding on that core at the bottom.

L6 is part of the 27MHz bandpass filter at the input after the first RX amp, but that doesn't mean that's what it is connected to. The pictures are not good enough. It would help to see where the wires on that core go into the board and if there are traces cut on the other side.

Edit: I think the two wires soldered to L6 are the grounds to both the primary and secondary and, with those suspect caps, it is replacing L6 as a tuned transformer
