Old School vs New School CBs: Which do you like ??

i like old radios but they are in need of tlc.
i disliked the q6666 i had . the lincoln v II was ok . but my second version stryker 955 hp is a really great modern radio. im still looking for fault within it after year n half use or so

The new Anytone and variants have spoiled me with the DSP noise reduction. That being said, the President Madison that was done for me by @loosecannon is actually quieter and just as sensitive. It has a counter in place of the clock and Digimax channel selector, I can VFO all over the place. I had to upgrade my Texas Star DX350 to a DX500 because it would make the ferrite transformers rattle. I use a cobra 148 as a station monitor with headphones and no antenna to monitor my TX audio and the Madison with a D104 with stock element and aftermarket preamp board is the cleanest sounding radio I have. Even better than my icom 718 with rack gear.

I have a few of the newer radios. I run a Stryker 955 in the semi, a crv 7900 in my daily pickup. In my old pickup I run a old Uniden grant. I have a yaesu 991 I use as a base but sometimes swap it out for a modified Cobra 148. Yesterday I only ran my old Cobra 139 XLR. It is just a straight 40 channel radio. But that thing has great audio. I really enjoy using it. It just depends on what I feel like talking on. They all have their advantages and disadvantages.

Yep! That's what I have, plus an AnyTone AT-5555 Plus and a RETEVIS Ailunce HS4. What's nice about the AT-5555 Plus and the HS4 is not having to pay the retailer to convert the radios to 11 meter band frequencies.
