Just a quick reminder
Please use extreme caution when dealing with a new user especially when they contact through direct messages.
They can register, send a message, take your funds and disappear leaving no trace.
Admin's don't see your private messages and we have no way of knowing what is going on with private sales.
Unfortunately it's the world we live in today.

I just had a weird message Friday from a new member. I just went to look for the message and it must have already wiped clear if it's who you're referring to.

They're relentless aren't they!

Thanks for the heads up Jeff, there will always be unscrupulous people, and there is a temptation to give new members the benefit of the doubt. Beware and be aware...

Yes, "buyer and seller beware"! I've received similar tactics from potential or scam buyers who inquired about my items I've listed for sale in Craigslist. I only list my radio items for sale in this forum.

This is a radio forum, not ebay. I can understand well-known members selling to other well-known members here, or even the occasional new member looking for something hard to find, but I wouldn't trust anyone approaching me with something for sale who doesn't have a couple hundred posts showing an active interest in what goes on here.

I know there are people out there kind enough to start an account just to help someone out, but those people are few and far between. Anyone with parts or radios for sale that wants to sell them here will have to be an active and contributing member for a while before I will even consider it. Doesn't matter how bad I want what they claim to have. I find it highly unlikely that someone who is not actively participating here would suddenly make an account or chime in after who knows how long because they happen to have what I need.

If it seems too convenient or others here cannot vouch for the new member, just pass. I don't know of any bot that can make it a few hundred posts without being caught. I also believe that a few hundred posts can tell a great deal about the person you are potentially dealing with. Trust who you want, this is just my 10 cents.
