    USING ANTENNA SWITCHES

Ah, I remember the time I ran my FT-101E into a neat little low drive two pill base amp when I changed my rig via a switch by mistake. Hey! What's that smell!?! 73, Brett

    New FT-818

There is a program for Android called Pocket RXTX that you can connect to the Yaesu rigs, either via USB or bluetooth. I am playing with the updated version for the 819, which still has some details to work out. I am sure Dan will update the program for the new FT-818 as well. You can use it...

    New FT-818

Part of the perceived problem with the FT- 891. The bigger the display, the more juice it draws. Not so great for portable, but I love mine for mobile. 73, Brett

Hey just to be clear, not trying to steal any thunder from Mudfoot on the Windows program. I will be downloading it as well. As an Android alternative, this ain't bad. 73, Brett

    yaesu ft-891 and ATAS 120A

I may not have time to check this out for a few days... anyone else want to give it a whirl? On edit to be clear, this is the Pocket rx/tx android program by Dan Toma. It is on Google Play. 73, Brett

    yaesu ft-891 and ATAS 120A

Hello Brett, FT891 config is now in the central repository, based on FT-450 config. Not all functions are checked/adapted, so please check for the moment the following: - set frequency - set mode - set output power Some other commands may work too. Please send me your feedback.

    yaesu ft-891 and ATAS 120A

I emailed the author of that program yesterday and he added some basic controls for the FT-891 today. He is asking for feedback from users. Nice android based alternative! 73, Brett

    2 meter beam questions

In HOA neighborhoods, those big tv antennas are in people's attics. I know mine is! Might be worth asking people if they want to get rid of them. 73, Brett

    Shoot-Out Radios

I find it interesting how people hook everything up and make it work, but I have never attended a shoot out. Watched a couple of youtube vids is about the extent of it. 73, Brett

    Dead Air

Bummer. You might try making a dipole and hanging it vertically, or use a mag mount antenna on a metal surface to see if you can get better range to your club repeater. Or a j pole! 73, Brett

Tram Corsair 23 Channel AM SSB CB Radio

Pretty cool old rig, and rare, too. 3 wire hookup for the mic, but I would think you can find a way to use what you have. Would be nice to have a factory stocker hand mic, but probably really hard to find one. Good luck with it! 73, Brett

    Dead Air

Always check during drive time... 7-9 am and 5-7 pm. And see if there are any nets listed on club web sites. And Tallman may be right about the digital thing... 73, Brett
