Don’t have a dummy load that will handle 1.5 KW. To find out. But just changing it from a tube type driver to a solid state stopped the bouncing fluctuation. My problem is solved but just trying to understand why a tube amp driving a solid state would cause that issue.
Strange swr behavior resolved.
Galaxy 2547 dead key .75 watts 4 tube 6jb6 driving x-force 10 pill.
Anytime I turned the dead key up past a 200 watt my swr would go from 1.2 steady to bouncing erratically all the way to 3. Some research pointed me toward a bad connection on my coax or arching...
Considering building a 5/8 wave ground plane for my base. If using a gamma match to feed a ground plane antenna would the radials and verticals be electrically common?
Thanks Linearone. I’m going to need like 4 of these to power my amp. $520 for the megawatt is a bit high. Mouser sells the mean well for about $60. Mouser is a vary well known supplier.

https://www.worldwidedx.com/threads/voltage-drop-with-power-supply-when-in-use-problem.269429/#post-852507. This is the thread I read. Linearone recommend a mean well or a Megawatt. This is thread that got me researching the Mean Well. I was hoping someone would read my post that had owned a...
I read one thread on here which lead me to mean well. Not sure which thread I found it on. I’ll try to find it. I think the Chinese knock offs are poor copies of the mean well supply. The link talks about this. I will try to find the thread I read it on...
Anyone know much about a Sark 100? I have one that shows a output frequency 40.010 when it is actually 27.205. If anyone knows how to correct this I’d like to know.
Replaced all those 1/4 wave jumpers to my shorter jumpers. Has no effect on SWR now. Can’t thank yall enough for the help and kind words.
73’s cheers!!
Got my chokes built and installed. 1.1 on ch1 1.25 ch40. Tuned it about 10 ft off the ground. Before the chokes just raising it to the 40ft height would make a huge difference in SWR. Now it’s the same at any height. I haven’t tried the shorter jumpers yet but I suspect it will be fine now...

Any one ever use one of these?
They claim they work with out the need for batteries. And without interference to receive.
2 Quick question for the group.
1: Is there a way to check for unwanted RF on a coax shield?
2: Will placing clip on ferrite beads at the meter show a response on the SWR meter if there is?
Awesome. Thanks Michael. I have a local giga parts not too far from where I work . Going to head over there after work tomorrow and pick up 213. Still have to figure out a power supply for my main amp. Working 6 10 he shifts leaves little time to experiment. But I’ll update results when I can.
