    RS first CB radio

71 miles with that rig is impressive. Wish he had told us what antenna he was running. J.J. 399

    Vintage Audio

Good Video. The guy stayed on point and didn't ramble. He was actually easy to listen to, unlike most U-Tubers. - J.J. 399

    Really worth it

The GE 3-5825B is an excellent radio. Sensitive receive, 2:1 speech compression ( easily modded to 4: 1), stable, two antenna hookups, and good (not great) power out. Strong audio w/o a power mike. Gotta be careful with the double boards but thats all. Just ask Brother Dxer. - J.J. 399

    11 meter is very quiet?

Dx on 37LSB was deep South and Southeast corner only. Good QSOs. Everyone was saying that the only station they could hear was me. I must be making the trip which explains why so many stations were coming back to me. I could hear a guy in Pensacola talking to a station in West Palm Beach. Less...

LIGHTNING ANTENNAS "White Lightning" 4-element quad review

Gibby - After a couple of years with this antenna, here's my review: DURABILITY - 10 out of 10. It's been through 2 rainy WINDY winters and still standing 100%. We had a windstorm that tore the roof off of my shack but the antenna was unfazed. PERFORMANCE: 7 out of 10. Overall gain is...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Hit the airwaves at about 2:30 PM. Nothing happening. As usual a little after 3 things started to pick up and I had a long Qso with Brad in N. florida. His 7300 was loud and clear. He said I was the only station in his receive. After tying up 37LSB for a good 45 minutes, we backed off and let...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Same thing down here. got on-the-air at about 1:30 37LSB. Nothing doing until about 3:30 or so started hearing some stations deep in the mud. At about 4Pm I could hear stations clearly. Called CQ-Dx and had some nice QSOs with stations in Arkansas, Texas, Louisanna, and Mississippi. At around...

    11 meter is very quiet?

When I talked to my contacts yesterday, I asked them how many stations had they talked to. Every one said that their receive was dead until I called CQ. Weird conditions everywhere. Gonna head down to the shack now ( 1:15 pm). listen for me on .375 LSB

    TRC-458, good receive, no transmit

    Rixdafix - If you can't find 300 ohm, use a 500 ohm instead. Easier to find than 200. Also don't need to change R219 with a 500. J.J. 399

    11 meter is very quiet?

I got my station back on the air today. My TX600 amp gave out a few days ago after 40 years of faithful service. One of the impossible-to-find RF120 transistors bit the dust. Sent the amp to the builder and he said he will remove the driver, use it to repair the amp, making it a straight 4-pill...

    11 meter is very quiet?

I've been off my feet and off the air for the past 4 days after getting my knee injections. Doc said to take it easy on the knees for 4-5 days. I'm going stir-crazy sitting on my ass all day. Tomorrow I'll crawl down to the shack and hit it around 10am. I hope that I have some luck. 73. Knees...

    Mean well LRS-600-12

Nope!! MeanWell supplies are Chinese and are like the Mega-Watt but without the hash filters. Mega-watt supplies are more expensive, but you get what you pay for. J.J. 399
