Trying out the new setup here. A quad5n into a Kl-203p pushing 150w into the Sirio GPE 27 5/8. Been making contacts all over the SW this morning. AZ and CA in particular. Yesterday it was TX and scattered parts of the SE.

CR1 is indeed backwards on the schematic. I have some capacitors on the way. I'll mess with it when I find time in my busy, retired life.

I'll check CR1 when I look at it again. It does seem strange for it to be that way. This amp does kick out some power. 75-80 watts AM or SSB. I haven't noticed any over heating, but it hasn't been keyed long during testing. SWR between radio and amp is below 1.5:1. Not bad for $20.

That's what I was thinking. I put a 10mfd in parallel, but it keys when I turn it on. I don't understand why, so I removed it. I'll try a 5mfd for 15 total.

It looks like extensive soldering on the left bottom edge. Take a soft brass brush, carefully, to clean the flux off. What circuits are in that area?

Check the connections in the breaker panel. Sounds like a loose connection.
